48 Hours Neukölln Exhibit in Berlin

Annually, a district-wide arts and culture event is held in the Neukölln district of Berlin. The event, 48 Stunden Neukölln provides opportunities for artists to exhibit, perform, discuss a wide array of topics and themes. For 2015, I was invited to join painter Frank Walkhoff in an exhibit at the Arabisches Kulturinstitut. The photographs that I chose to exhibit were a documentation of people, occupations, objects and landscapes taken across the Mideast between 2008 and 2010 - a time of relative peace. A number of these places, such as in the Aleppo Souk in Syria, have been completely destroyed. Photos such as these provide a glimpse of life there which is now sadly gone.
